BOND Hosts 2nd Annual Charity to Benefit Local NonProfit

Boston – BOND recently hosted the firm’s 2nd annual Charity Motorcycle Run, which included the participation of nearly 20 riders, to benefit Malden-based Housing Families Inc. (HFI).

The August 10th event, which raised funds for the nonprofit’s Annual Backpack Drive, began at BOND’s headquarters in Everett, MA, with bikers trekking all the way up to Deerfield, NH before returning to Housing Families’ Malden home.

Proceeds from this year’s event will go towards providing backpacks and other supplies for children returning to school in September.

Housing Families was founded in 1986 by community members concerned about the growing crisis of homelessness among families in the cities of Malden, Medford, Everett and Revere, as well as Boston and surrounding communities.

The organization has grown into one of the largest providers of family shelter in Massachusetts. Serving more than 250 homeless families, including more than 450 children, each year, Housing Families provides temporary emergency shelter and affordable housing units, and offers an award-winning after school program. HFI’s central mission is to help families build the skills and understanding they need to make a successful transition into their own home, and to prevent the recurrence of homelessness.

“We at Housing Families are very thankful to BOND for hosting their second annual motorcycle ride to benefit our programs,” said Patty Kelly, Community Outreach Coordinator for Housing Families Inc. “The funds raised will help support our annual backpack drive, and will provide much-needed supplies for our children to have a successful start to the school year. Many thanks to BOND and to all who participated.”
