Westbrook, M – Avita of Stroudwater in Westbrook recently announced the appointment of Lea Rust as the community’s new Marketing Director. The assisted living community, which opened last fall, specializes in memory care for the elderly.
Rust comes to Avita from Genesis HealthCare, where she served for seven years, most recently as Regional Marketing Manager for the Northeast. She brings more than two decades of marketing and sales experience to the post and has been working in the healthcare field since 1991. Her introduction to the healthcare began even earlier and never waned — she volunteered as a candy striper at age eleven.
“The journey of finding an assisted living community for a family member can be a challenging one,” said Rust. “Having had my own experiences with family members, I understand the struggles. My goal is to make the transition easier for families and to be a trusted partner in the process. I am thrilled to join the Avita of Stroudwater team and to work in a field that is so rewarding.”
Rust is a resident of Falmouth where she lives with her husband and two children. She is an active committee member and advocate with The Alzheimer’s Association.
