Marty Jones
Wellesley, MA – At its 79th Annual Meeting Retreat in Rhode Island on May 2, Associated General Contractors of MA welcomed speakers, Phil Bernstein, FAIA, Vice President at Autodesk, and Marty Jones, President/CEO of MassDevelopment. Each offered insight into the state of the Development, Design and Construction Industry as viewed from their specific areas of expertise.
Ms. Jones talked about the vitality of MA and the Authority’s role as both developer and lender working with private and public sector clients to stimulate economic growth in the Massachusetts marketplace. During FY2013, MassDevelopment financed or managed 350 projects generating investment of more than $2.4 billion in the Massachusetts economy. These projects are projected to create more than 7,000 jobs and build or rehabilitate 800 residential units.

Mr. Bernstein led a discussion on how technology trends are driving changing relationships, obligations and results in the construction industry today. His discussion included the intersection of business evolution and technology trends and the future impact on the business of construction.
