Boston – Claro Advisors, LLC announced that James W. Abbott, vice president and financial advisor, was recently awarded the Professional Plan Consultant (PPC) designation from the Center for Fiduciary Studies, the standards-setting body for Fi360.
Claro Advisors is an independent registered investment advisor with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission based in Boston.
The PPC designation signifies specialized training on retirement plan management and administration and ERISA compliance, and is the culmination of a rigorous training program, including a comprehensive, closed-book final examination under the supervision of a proctor, and agreement to abide by the Code of Ethics and Conduct Standards.
Abbott joined Claro Advisors in 2017.
His focus is on Company 401(k) plans as well as fostering collaborative relationships within the construction, design and engineering industry and the professional hockey industry.
“Jim has continued to demonstrate a passion for increasing his expertise in certain areas which goes above and beyond most other financial advisors. I’m proud of his most recent accomplishment,” said Ryan Belanger, managing principal.
On an ongoing basis, completion of continuing education and adherence to the Code of Ethics and Conduct Standards are required to maintain the PPC.
