The Massachusetts State House
Boston – The Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM) recently awarded its $10.3 million state-house elevator upgrades and replacement project to Colantonio Inc.
The firm will upgrade the finishes, mechanical rooms, head houses, penthouses, and accessibility of 15 elevators at the Massachusetts State House. The work includes new elevator venting and cooling systems and revisions to the power distribution to individual elevator machine rooms. Several wheelchair and materials lifts will also be repaired or installed.
The project was designed by Livermore Edwards Associates.
Several teams of installers will work simultaneously on separate elevator banks, taking one elevator offline at a time. The work will progress in five phases to keep at least one elevator operational at all times in each bank.
August 2018 is the scheduled completion date .
