Boston – Architectural Engineers, Inc. (AEI), a WBE/DBE mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and lighting design services firm based in Boston, announced that Susan Wisler, PE, LEED AP has been named president of the 30-person firm. In this role, she will be responsible for oversight of operations, staffing and technical excellence across the company.

Wisler, a registered professional engineer in five states and a member of the board of directors for PWC Boston, has been a principal and the chief mechanical engineer at AEI for 15 years. She serves as principal-in-charge for many complex new construction and renovation projects with a focus on the sustainable design of rehabilitation and new mechanical HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for projects in all of AEI’s target markets.

Former President Robin Greenleaf, PE, LEED AP will remain active as the firm’s CEO and chair of the board of directors.

“Architectural Engineers has always been a special place, where talented engineers and designers are given the opportunity to produce creative and technically complex designs while directly interfacing with our clients. I feel fortunate for the opportunity to lead a company so firmly grounded in many of the values I personally find important,” said Wisler. “As president, I intend to continue the organic development of our staff and look forward to building on old relationships and starting new ones that support a mutual commitment to high technical quality, excellent client support, and an empowered staff.”

“Susan has been an integral member of our leadership team since she joined us in 2005 and has consistently proven herself as a technical expert and forward thinker who engages our clients and staff in collaborative ventures,” said Greenleaf. “It was extremely important to our firm that we transition to someone who embodies the culture and mission of our firm, and Susan is the natural choice. I look forward to working alongside her in this new role as we begin the next chapter of AEI.”
