West Concord Mixed-Use Development for Brookside Square Underway

Woburn, MA – Tocci Building Companies, (Tocci), recently participated in the official ground breaking ceremony for Brookside Square, held on Monday in West Concord, MA. The five-acre, 126,000 SF mixed-use development site is positioned adjacent to West Concord’s main commercial district, a commuter rail station, Nashoba Brook and a future “rails to trails” bike path. Project construction began in March 2014 with demolition of the existing site.

Brookside Square represents Tocci’s third collaboration with Oaktree FX Development (Oaktree). The team, which also includes The Architectural Team (TAT), will collaborate using Building Information Modeling (BIM) to plan, optimize, and coordinate the project digitally to streamline the construction process.

“We’re thrilled to be part of the Brookside Square development team,” said John Tocci, Chief Enabling Officer at Tocci Building Companies. “It is inspiring to work on a project that embodies both Oaktree and Tocci’s values – contemporary design, community connectivity, sustainability, and a mixed-use program.”

The complex will feature 74 luxury apartments-studios and one- and two-bedroom units on the building’s upper floors-and 36,000 square feet of first-class commercial space below. The commercial space is designed to attract businesses that will cater to the Brookside Square residents, mostly empty nesters looking to downsize and young professionals seeking a work-live-play environment.
