VA Outpatient Clinic in Portland, Maine

Portland, ME – Landry/French Construction announced the completion of the new VA Community-Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) in Portland.

The new 68,000sf facility, located at 141 West Commercial St., consolidates former clinics in Portland and Saco and provides increased access to a core set of services and additional specialty care in the southern part of Maine. Services include primary care, mental health, surgical and medicine specialty services, dental, eye, audiology, physical therapy, prosthetics support, phlebotomy lab, radiology, and telehealth. The new outpatient clinic also serves as a teaching site with space dedicated to enhancing affiliate relationships with Tufts Medical School and Maine Medical Center.

An adjacent 385-space parking garage is located on site for veteran parking, and a 150-space surface parking lot is designated for staff. On top of the parking garage are 1,512 solar panels that provide 100% of the clinic’s energy.

According to representatives of Landry/French Construction, the new clinic serves as a model for other clinics around the country and will provide services to more than 100,000 Maine veterans.

The project team included Portland-based developer, J.B. Brown & Sons, and Virginia-based developer, FD Stonewater. Smithgroup, headquartered in Michigan, served as architect, and Gorrill Palmer provided civil engineering services.
