ULI Receives ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year Award

Washington – The Urban Land Institute (ULI) has received the 2022 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year Award for the second consecutive year.

Announced by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the award recognizes ENERGY STAR partner businesses and organizations that demonstrate superior leadership, innovation, and commitment to environmental protection through energy efficiency. ULI received the award in recognition of the ways it partners with the real estate industry to accelerate progress toward decarbonization and net zero, including through ULI’s Greenprint Center for Building Performance, which is a network of more than 70 real estate owners and investors globally.

ENERGY STAR was woven into many of ULI’s 2021 efforts to help its more than 45,000 global real estate members make the business case for green buildings, including:

  • More than 10 virtual events on sustainability topics, from energy benchmarking to Class B/C building efficiency, for national and local audiences alike
  • Several targeted webinars to promote a complementary suite of existing tenant space efficiency solutions: ENERGY STAR Tenant Spaces, the ULI Tenant Energy Optimization Program, and Green Lease Leaders
  • New ULI content: ULI Global Sustainability Outlook 2021 report, State of Green: Greenprint Performance Report Volume 12, and Learning ESG in Real Estate course
  • Monthly ULI Greenprint members-only calls, newsletters, and resource creation

ULI also congratulates the ten ULI Greenprint member companies that were also recognized as 2021 ENERGY STAR award winners: Boston Properties, CommonWealth Partners, Hudson Pacific Properties, Kilroy Realty, LaSalle Investment Management, LBA Realty/LBA Logistics, Nuveen, Paramount Group, SL Green Realty, Tishman Speyer, MetLife Investment Management, and BentallGreenOak.
