Mattapoisett, MA – The Preserve at the Bay Club (The Preserve), a luxurious, country-club community nestled within the Bay Club at Mattapoisett, hosted a Fall Harvest BBQ on October 18 inviting guests to tour a model home and experience a taste of the Mattapoisett lifestyle. With delicious BBQ prepared by celebrity chef Andy Husbands and craft beer provided by Harpoon Brewery, the event was well-attended, highlighting strong interest in the picturesque community and thoughtfully designed, right-sized homes.
Organized by Carrie Richards, director of events at Nickerson, attendees included Lisa Nickerson, development partner at The Preserve; representatives of Aerie Homes; current and prospective residents of the community; and local real estate brokers. Activity at The Preserve has been high throughout the fall season with multiple home sites being reserved in recent weeks.

While attendees marveled at the beautiful finishes and designs featured in the model home, Andy Husbands prepared a number of tasty bites including pulled pork and brisket sliders, homemade coleslaw, and a Cajun chorizo with rock shrimp side dish. Harpoon Brewery co-sponsored the event, supplying four selections of craft beer such as a pumpkin ale and their classic IPA. Adding to the festivities, all guests in attendance received a complimentary signed copy of Husband’s “Wicked Good Barbecue” cookbook, featuring a selection of his signature recipes.
Built by Aerie Homes, The Preserve features Nantucket-style homes offering 1,950sf to 3,400sf of modern living space with deluxe amenities, the privacy of a gated community, and access to Bay Club amenities including the club’s golf course, sports and fitness center, fine dining, and other recreational activities with approved social membership. Buyers at The Preserve can choose from one of five home styles: Linden, Hawthorne, Sycamore, Magnolia, or Juniper.
