Boston – The Overlook at St. Gabriel’s, a hilltop residential community at 161-185 Washington Street in Brighton, MA, announced the opening of Overlook West as the fourth and final rental residential building on the property.
The residential community, a redeveloped church and monastery, is in close proximity to Downtown Boston. Overlook West will provide 237 additional units to the property, which is comprised of 555 total new apartments. It also includes a meditation courtyard and the additional amenities include two lounges a fireplace lounge on the first floor and a fifth and sixth-floor resident lounge.
The property includes Maker Hall, which was the former St. Gabriel’s church, and left the historic architecture. It features the restored fifty-foot ceilings, stained glass, and terrazzo flooring. Amenities include coworking areas, a state-of-the-art fitness center, the Bar Lounge, a café, and more.
Cabot, Cabot, & Forbes developed the property, in partnership with Blue Vista Capital Management (capital partner), and PeakMade Real Estate (leasing and management), and worked in concert with architect BH+A to restore St. Gabriel’s Monastery and Church, as well as architect CUBE3 to create the three new residential buildings. The final product is a spacious 45,000sf property with amenities to suit any lifestyle in the exciting urban area of Brighton.
