Hooksett, NH –  North Branch Construction of Concord is nearing completion of structural steel erection on site of the new $9.9 million New Hampshire Army National Guard (NHARNG) Field Maintenance Shop.

The architect for this project is Smith Alvarez Sienkiewycz Architects located in Burlington, VT.

Located along Route 3, the facility consists of a 27,200sf field maintenance building and a 2,435sf storage shed. The field maintenance building includes a six-bay garage with overhead crane

maintenance capabilities, a drive-through wash bay, a tool storage room, offices, classrooms, and gym and shower facilities. The scope of work also includes site improvements.

Masonry, framing, and roofing are ongoing and the building is expected to be enclosed and weather-tight over the next month. A directional boring across Route 3 has brought water service to the building which, along with all other utilities, should be installed this fall.

The new facility will combine the current NHARNG Manchester and Hillsborough field maintenance shops into one location to support the maintenance and repair of combat and tactical vehicles. The facility is being constructed to achieve Silver Level LEED certification by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). Several sustainable construction techniques and materials have been and will be incorporated throughout construction to accomplish this.

Over 11,000 cubic yards of ledge were blasted earlier this year and 100% of the material will be processed and recycled for use onsite. The building will feature an advanced building envelope expected to achieve high-performance blower door testing results as well as a PVA solar panel system.
