Southborough, MA – Erland Construction, in collaboration with Goody Clancy and Design Technique, Inc., has been selected by St. Mark’s School to construct a new 90,000sf, 3-story residence hall on its evolving campus in Southborough.

When completed, the building will house a mix of single and double rooms for 150 students and 12 faculty apartments as well as a student lounge, eight group study rooms, and 12 study nooks.
A variety of materials including structural steel, timber framing, and metal roof trusses will be used to construct the new residence hall.

Additionally, the building will incorporate sustainable elements and will be constructed to meet St. Mark’s ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship. The 17-month project is designed to create a living and learning community that honors the “school under one roof” vision of St. Mark’s founder, Joseph Burnett, just in time for 2022 fall semester.

St. Mark’s campus will remain occupied throughout construction. This is Erland’s seventh project with St. Mark’s. The school most recently partnered with Erland to transform an underutilized space within its existing gymnasium into a state-of-the-art athletic training space.
