Boston – The Bulfinch Companies Inc. announced that Ann Sobolewski has joined the company as vice president, assistant general counsel. She brings over 20 years of commercial real estate, land use and environmental law experience to the Bulfinch team.

She will work closely with Mark DiOrio, managing director and general counsel, and senior leadership to provide legal oversight for the company and its portfolio.

She will be responsible for providing general legal support on a variety of matters related to Bulfinch’s real estate investment, development, property management and operations, and assisting the legal department in addressing internal legal and corporate matters.

Sobolewski joins Bulfinch after spending over 12 years with Posternak, Blankstein & Lund LLP, which recently merged with Arent Fox. There, she served as a partner and counsel.

“I look forward to this next chapter in my career, where I can bring my professional experience in commercial real estate, land use and environmental law to further Bulfinch’s strategic growth,” stated Sobolewski.

Sobolewski is currently involved in Boston’s commercial real estate and legal industries as well as her local community. She is a member of the Environmental Section of the Boston Bar Association, and is a member of CREW Boston, a network of women in the commercial real estate industry. She previously served on the Plympton Planning and Zoning Boards, and was recognized as a Massachusetts Super Lawyer from 2011-2018, and a Super Lawyer Rising Star in 2005, 2009 and 2010.

“Ann’s experience and expertise within Boston’s commercial real estate industry makes her an excellent addition to Bulfinch,” stated Eric D. Schlager, CEO of Bulfinch. “Her extensive land-use and permitting experience compliments our team and further enables Bulfinch to expand our portfolio and provide added value to future development opportunities.”
