Glastonbury, CT – The S/L/A/M Collaborative, Inc. architects was recently awarded multiple STEM-related ( Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) projects at Providence College, University of Mary Washington, Misericordia University, and Sacred Heart University.
At the Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, SLAM is designing a new 115,000sf building for the College of Health Professions and a 300-car parking garage. The spaces will include clinical/skills labs, a simulation suite, theater-style learning classrooms, a dining hall and supporting classrooms/offices.
SLAM was asked by Providence College to conduct a space utilization and needs assessment of its chemistry, biology, physics and psychology departments.
In association with Commonwealth Architects, SLAM is designing a 40,000sf addition and 20,000sf of renovation to the four-story Jepson Science Center for the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
SLAM was approached by Misericordia University in Dallas, Penn. regarding a space planning project for the Hafey McCormick science facility. SLAM is completing a space assessment that will help the university provide adequate, flexible space to accommodate existing programs and allow for future growth in the Sciences.
