Darien Highway Garage
Darien, CT – Silver / Petrucelli + Associates, a Hamden-based architecture, engineering and interior design collaborative, joined town officials and public works staff at the ribbon-cutting for its highway garage expansion project on June 13. The $5.8 million expansion increases the Town’s capacity for public works vehicles and staff, and modernizes the existing facility.
The project team included Michael Horton Associates, structural engineers; Cabezas-DeAngelis, civil/site engineers; and AP Construction, general contractors.
Silver / Petrucelli + Associates began working with the Town of Darien in 2015 completing a feasibility study and conceptual design for the facility. Final design was completed in 2016 and construction began last summer. Two new garage bays have been added at each end of the complex. A new addition on the southern end of the complex houses new office space and a meeting room as well as vehicle maintenance and storage space. New additions on the north end are used for servicing vehicles.
