SENEDIA Golf Tournament Supports  Military Lounge

Newport, RI – The Rhode Island Military Operations (RIMO) will receive a $5,000 donation from the Southeastern New England Defense Industry Alliance (SENEDIA) in support of improvements of the military lounge at T.F. Green Airport.  The funds were raised through a raffle at the 15th Annual Golf Tournament that took place in June.

The Military Lounge, founded in 2013, provides a place for relaxation, communication with loved ones while traveling and resources for arranging unexpected travel plans.  It is located on the second floor of the airport, in the hallway behind the Delta ticket counters, next to the Hope Reflection Room.

“Over 100 SENEDIA members participated in the golf tournament to benefit Rhode Island service members and their families.  Tens-of-thousands active and retired members of the military from across New England deserve a place to gather during their travels through our state,” said SENENDIA Executive Director Molly Donohue Magee.

The tournament was made possible through donors and sponsors, including Adler Pollock and Sheehan P.C., Aerotek, Balfour Beatty, Dell, General Dynamics, iXblue, L3, Lee’s Market, Liana Fenton, McLaughlin Research Corp., Mercury Systems, MIKEL, Monti’s Maple Farm & Winery, PURVIS Systems, Raytheon, Rite-Solutions, SAIC, SEA Corp., Star Engineering, and Titleist.

Volunteers are in the room daily from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
