Senate Chosen for Science Lab Reno at Mt. Alvernia High

FULLCOLORShirley, MA- Senate Construction Corporation has been hired to renovate a science lab at Mount Alvernia High School in Newton, MA.

The complete renovation includes new electrical, gas and plumbing systems that will service all new lab casework, workstations, equipment and fume hood along with a new ceiling, lighting, flooring and paint. The lab is designed to allow for seating variability to allow for either a Lab or Lecture arrangement. The renovation design will provide an improved learning and teaching environment.

Project architect is Norwell, MA-based Habeeb & Associates Architects, Inc. Senate project manager is Jon Karp, who has extensive experience with the renovation and building of schools and scholastic facilities. The renovation is scheduled for completion in August, just before the new school year starts. Ann Marie Procopio, director of interior design at Drummey Rosane Anderson Inc, is working with the Senate and MAHS on a pro-bono basis to select colors and finishes. Ms. Procopio has worked with MAHS on several projects over the past 10 years.

“It is a beautiful lab project,” said Bob France, president of Senate Construction. “We are very pleased to be working with Mount Alvernia High School officials and Habeeb & Associates Architects on this project.”

Mount Alvernia is a girls Catholic high school (7-12 grades). Its students hail from more than 30 communities in and around the city of Boston.
