Cambridge, MA – CTA Construction Managers joined Cambridge Mayor Marc McGovern, elected officials, the Cambridge Housing Authority (CHA) staff and local residents for the CHA’s Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) Celebration Weekend October 13 & 14th.
The event featured a ribbon cutting ceremony, and marked the completion of phase one of the RAD projects, which is working to revitalize more than 1,150 affordable housing apartments in CHA’s portfolio.
Local residents whose lives have been directly impacted by these projects also participated in the weekend events, along with CHA lending partners.
A variety of upgrades and renovations were made to Newtowne Court and Putnam Gardens, including enhancing kitchens, bathrooms and other living spaces, upgrading life safety elements, improving energy efficiency, along with enhancing a variety of site amenities. New appliances, finishes and fixtures were installed and wheelchair accessible units were also upgraded.
