Ribbon Cut at New Playground

Boston – On Dec. 4, a ribbon cutting and dedication was held at the new playground at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Mission Grammar School in Roxbury.

As part of a$2 million expansion of its St. Alphonsus campus that also includes six new classrooms, a STEM lab, and an outdoor learning space, Mission Grammar School celebrated the opening of the 3,000sf playground located in the heart of Mission Hill.

The colorful playground features more than 30 elements including three slides, two rock climbing walls, easels for young artists, comfortable seating areas, green space, and safety surfaces, all illuminated by a state-of-the-art lighting design. In addition, a 16-foot tall structure resembling a friendly spider’s “web” offers Mission Grammar scholars expansive views of the Boston skyline.

Funded by philanthropists and foundations, the playground offers a vibrant outdoor space for Mission Grammar’s nearly 300 students, ages three months to 12 years.
