RE Firm Recognized by Better Buildings Challenge

Braintree, MA – Peabody Properties, an affiliate of The Peabody Companies, announced it is on track toward meeting its energy reduction goal as a Better Buildings Challenge multifamily partner.

According to Josh Geyer, Better Buildings Initiative Multifamily Sector Lead with the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Office of Environment and Energy, Peabody Properties is to be congratulated for “currently achieving an average annual percent improvement of 2.1% for an equivalent cumulative savings of 12% towards your 20% energy savings goal.”

“It is extremely satisfying to be acknowledged for the energy savings progress we have made and for actions we have taken to help address climate emergency and promote healthy and safe communities,” said Mark Dubos, director of facilities, energy management and sustainability with the Peabody Companies.

The Better Buildings Challenge is one component of the Better Buildings Initiative, through which the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) in conjunction with HUD partners with more than 900 public and private sector organizations to make commercial, public, industrial, and residential buildings more efficient, thereby saving energy and money while creating jobs.
