Pittsfield, MA – Architecture and engineering firm, edm, announced the hiring of Amy Ray as director of business development. With over 20 years of industry experience, she brings an extensive background and wealth of knowledge from her past successes.
In her new role, Ray will be responsible for driving edm’s strategic business development initiatives and expanding the presence of edm in Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New York.
She will work with edm’s Architectural Group, and Industrial and Building Divisions to further grow the brand and integrated services across a wide and diverse range of markets.
Prior to joining edm, Ray most recently worked for Newman Architects in New Haven, Conn.
At Newman Architects, Ray was director of marketing and business development where she successfully reinvented the marketing team to bring on new talent, elevate the brand and grow the firm’s market presence across the Northeast.
According to edm, Amy is no stranger to working in the architecture and engineering industries and is thrilled to capture new opportunities and increase business as edm looks to develop new strategic partnerships in all markets. Her enthusiasm and creativity will be extremely valuable as she builds and strengthens relationships in the industry and beyond.

Ray is heavily involved in a variety of industry associations, including serving on the programs committee for Professional Women in Construction (PWC) Connecticut chapter, the Diversity and Inclusion Task Force for SMPS Connecticut chapter, and most recently she was elected to secretary of the National Organization of Minority Architects (NOMA) Connecticut chapter.
