Q-State BioSciences tissue culture lab

Cambridge, MA – Tocci Building Companies (Tocci) has completed construction on a 6,500 square- foot (sf) Tissue Culture Laboratory at 179 Sidney Street in Cambridge, MA. The new space was completed on behalf of Q- State Biosciences, a biotechnology

company dedicated to developing therapeutics and diagnostics utilizing its proprietary optical and stem cell technologies.

Tocci provided design coordination and construction management services while working collaboratively with Jones Architecture, Inc., and AHA Consulting Engineers. Notably, Tocci utilized its Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) tools to develop accurate mechanical drawings, which helped to deliver the efficient and high-quality space.

“Q-State Biosciences is an innovative company that required an innovative builder,” commented Greg Cerino, Tocci Senior Cost Engineer. “We are pleased to have worked with Q-State on this unique project and look forward to collaborating in the future.”

Q-State Biosciences’ new Tissue Culture Laboratory features a general washing area, media preparation, sterilization, and storage area, environmentally controlled incubators, and an observation/data collection area.

Founded by David Margulies and Harvard University scientists Adam Cohen, Kevin Eggan, and Joel Kralj, Q-State Biosciences provides best-in-class research and development for cardiac and neuronal drug discovery, cardio- and neuro-toxicity screening, mechanistic studies, model development and validation.
