Brightview Senior Living Community
Tarrytown, NY – Construction work is nearing completion on the Brightview Senior Living Community in Tarrytown. The community is owned by Shelter Development of Baltimore, Md. Two companies based in Manchester, N.H., partnered with Shelter Development in the construction and design; PROCON was the construction manager, and JAL Architecture & Engineering, PC designed the building.
The interior millwork, flooring, finishes, and equipment testing are in the final stages, and the punch-list is in-hand. Exterior work on the sidewalks, paving, and plantings are under way in readiness for turnover to Shelter Development for its incoming residents. The building’s exterior features a combination of cultured stone and a vinyl siding façade. Walkways, patios, pergolas, and gazebos will further enhance the exterior courtyard area.
Brightview Tarrytown is conveniently located near the Tappan Zee Bridge crossing the Hudson River, that connects to New York’s metropolitan area. The four-story 70,000sf senior living community features 61 apartment homes and 29 specialized apartments for people living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.
The residences are tastefully designed, spacious, and available in a variety of floor plans. A vibrant social environment is promoted with inviting spaces for residents to gather, such as an elegant dining area, a café, wellness/fitness center, activities room, beauty/barber salon, and library/media room. Housekeeping, dining, transportation, and maintenance are all provided. Parking is also available in front of the building.
PROCON has completed several other Brightview projects in the Massachusetts area.

When asked about the final results, the project manager was especially pleased stating, “The design, facade and landscape came together really well. This is a site with great views, and now to see it like this is a really gratifying feeling.”
Other Brightview projects completed by PROCON include Brightview Arlington, North Andover, and Danvers. A new Brightview in Norwalk, CT is currently nearing completion, and an additional Massachusetts community in Canton is expected to be completed in spring, 2016.
