PC Construction Employees Receive STS Certifications

stsSouth Burlington, VT –  PC Construction employee-owners Mike LaPointe of Lewiston, Maine and Ismael Ramirez of Dacula, Georgia have achieved the Safety Trained Supervisor (STS) Certification, placing them among a prestigious group to have earned this important designation in the construction industry.

LaPointe, who is the project superintendent on the Oxford Networks Data Center project in Brunswick, Maine, is one of only 10 in the State of Maine with the safety certification.

“Receiving the STS certification is an important step in my professional growth, as well as for our company,” said LaPointe. “Working on a construction site without the proper preparation and training can be dangerous. I am pleased to know my training will help contribute to a safer work environment for my fellow employee-owners.”

Ismael Ramirez, a craft training coordinator at DC Water’s Final Dewatering Facility project in Washington, DC, also received notice of his STS Certification shortly after LaPointe.

“I’m proud to work for a company like PC Construction that prioritizes safety on the job,” said Ramirez. “Providing me with the opportunity to obtain this certification is just one of the many ways PC Construction is ensuring the well-being of all employee-owners.”

On the heels of these accomplishments, more than 1,100 PC Construction employee-owners and project subcontractors participated in OSHA’s National Fall Prevention Stand-down to provide detailed training and education events and raise awareness about fall hazards and prevention.
