Off the Rails Now Open

Worcester, MA – Off the Rails, a 4,200sf country and western music venue is now open. Gorman Richardson Lewis Architects (GRLA) worked closely with owner, Cliff Rucker, and contractor, Consigli Construction, to fast-track the design and bring this venue to downtown Worcester. Working alongside GRLA to provide this venue was Fitzemeyer & Tocci Associates, Johnson Structural Engineering, and TEC for site planning.

The space features a clear-span open area that can accommodate almost 500 guests with a raised stage, wood dance floor, and bar.Three glass overhead doors provide direct access from the dance floor to the outdoor patio. Interior finishes include 15” wide reclaimed southern yellow pine boards for the approximately 1,800sf dance floor and 800sf stage along with rustic wood wall cladding. The bar features a 22’ long reclaimed southern yellow pine bar top.

The exterior of the venue incorporates materials that embrace the context of downtown Worcester with traditional brick, but also includes composite cladding and glazing visually connecting the interior and exterior.
