West Concord, MA – Oaktree FX, a partnership between Cambridge-based Oaktree Development LLC and Patrick Cleary of FX Investments, recently held a groundbreaking ceremony  for Brookside Square, a transit-oriented, mixed-use development that will provide 74 luxury apartments and 36,000sf of first class commercial and office space within a short walking distance to the W. Concord Commuter Rail Station.

The ceremony was attended by approximately 75 people, including Secretary of Housing & Economic Development Greg Bialecki; Secretary of the Mass. Department of Transportation Richard Davey; Assistant Secretary for Land & Forest Stephanie Cooper; Mass. State Senator Mike Barrett; Gwendolen Noyes, Arthur Klipfel and Patrick Cleary of Oaktree FX Development; Nick Boynton of The Boynton Company; John Tocci, CEO of Tocci Building Companies; representatives from The Architectural Team; and other key development personnel as well as residents and town officials from the Town of Concord.

“Residents of Brookside Square will be able to shop, eat and enjoy the benefits of outdoor recreation all within a short walk of their home,” said Noyes, senior vice president of Cambridge-based Oaktree Development.

Oaktree FX and Boynton have retained the Avison Young suburban brokerage team led by principals Jack Kerrigan, Steve Cook, and Bill Sullivan to lead the leasing efforts for the office space.

“This project is an excellent example of the great work we can accomplish when we work together to create new multi-family housing options in our local communities, while engaging in land conservation practices,” said Secretary Bialecki. “Through these types of efforts, we are making our communities great places to live, work, and play.”

Brookside Square will connect directly to the West Concord MBTA commuter rail station and shares a boundary with the proposed Bruce Freeman Rail Trail and Bike Path. The project will also feature a “pocket park” that will be accessible to the public via a network of walking trails.
