Lebanon, NH – Ground was recently broken on a new Hilton Garden Inn Hotel and Conference Center to be located at 35 LaLombard Street.
PROCON, based in Manchester, is the designer and builder, and XSS Hotels of Manchester is the developer.
Preliminary sitework commenced in August with the grading of soils and removal of ledge. The installation of underground utilities was concurrent with foundation placement; that was completed in early November.
The hotel will also incorporate environmentally friendly elements, such as LED lighting throughout, high-efficiency heating and cooling systems, low-flow plumbing, and low-VOC paints and adhesives.
PROCON architects worked closely with the owners to design the Hilton Garden Inn to blend seamlessly with the traditional architecture of the surrounding area. In keeping with this, the exterior is composed of a porte-cochère entry, flanked by a combination of brick veneer masonry and clapboard siding. Upon completion, parking will be available for 226 vehicles.
Plans call for a four-story, 100-key hotel featuring double queen and king guestrooms. Each room will come equipped with a workstation, complimentary high-speed internet, microwave, and refrigerator. The first floor consists of an entrance lobby, meeting rooms, guest dining, buffet area, and a lounge/bar area. A 24×7 market will be available, as well as a Wi-Fi-connected business center. Guests will also be able to enjoy an indoor swimming pool and a fitness center. The lounge and bar are designed to flow outdoors to a patio area for social gatherings.
The design includes an 8,600sf flexible-space conference center with a 300-person capacity — perfect for larger events such as seminars, training meetings, or weddings.
Operable partitions will permit the space to be subdivided into four smaller rooms that can function simultaneously. It is supported by a full-service kitchen and a back-of-room corridor, giving catering team’s easy access to the function area. The Conference Center will be available by reservation to companies, visitors and guests of the hotel.
The hotel intersects Routes 89 and 91 south of Hanover and is approximately five miles from the shops and restaurants at the Powerhouse Mall.
“Lebanon is a city in a great location with a lot to offer visitors to the area. We are looking forward to providing a comfortable and affordable accommodation option that guests will enjoy and remember after they leave. Additionally, we feel that the first-class conference space attached to the hotel will be a welcome addition to the Upper Valley.” Said Partner XSS Hotels Mark Schleicher.
The hotel and conference center are located near Dartmouth College – one of the world’s most prestigious Ivy League institutions, as well as the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. However, future guests of the Hilton Garden Inn may also enjoy visiting the Dartmouth College Museum, the Lebanon Opera House, or the historic Shaker Museum, which is only 15 minutes away. It is expected to be open to guests by the late summer of 2017
