Methuen Construction Wins ABC EIC Award

Peirce Island Wastewater Treatment Facility

Concord, NH – Associated Builders and Contractors NH/VT (ABC NH/VT) member company Methuen Construction Co. Inc., based in Plaistow, won a national Excellence in Construction award, presented during the ABC National Convention 2022 in San Antonio, Texas on March 16.

Methuen Construction received the National Excellence in Construction Pyramid Award in the Public Works/Environmental category for its work on the Peirce Island Wastewater Treatment Facility upgrade in Portsmouth.

“The work done by Methuen Construction is outstanding and encapsulates how ABC members work for the betterment of their community. The successful completion of this state-of-the-art facility was done on time, within budget and demonstrates how the success of a construction project is largely attributed to collaboration between the owner, engineer, and general contractor,” stated 2021 ABC NH/VT chairman, Matt Johnson.

The EIC awards are a national competition that honors general and specialty contractors for world-class, safe and innovative construction projects from across the nation. The awards honor every member of the construction team, including the contractor, owner, architect and engineer. The winning projects are judged by a panel of industry experts on complexity, attractiveness, unique challenges overcome, completion time, workmanship, innovation and safety.

This year’s judges included representatives from the Smithsonian Facilities Construction Division, Construction Management Association of America, Engineering News-Record, Design-Build Institute of America, University Research Institute and various construction-related firms nationwide.
