Kay Doyle

Boston, MA – The Massachusetts Building Congress, a business and networking organization, will host a breakfast program on ‘Building the Cannabis Industry’ on Tuesday, April 23 at the Revere Hotel Boston Common.

Speakers will include Kay Doyle, Commissioner of the Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission, Brian Anderson, founding partner at Anderson Porter Design, and John Hyde, a senior project manager with Chapman Construction/Design.

Brian Anderson

The panel will discuss the emerging opportunities for designers, builders, and specialty contractors as the cannabis industry in Massachusetts moves into its production and facility construction phases. Advanced building methodologies are required to construct controlled-environment agricultural facilities and regulatory frameworks inform retail design.

Annual recreational sales of cannabis products are expected to reach a total of $1.3 – $1.6 billion in the next few years, according to projections by Marijuana Business Daily.
