Marlborough, MA – CTA Construction, of Waltham, has been selected to build the new senior center at Ward Park in Marlborough.
The new $6.4 million, one and two-story, 22,000sf center will feature a large multi-purpose room as well as administrative offices, a library, a computer room, kitchen, and dedicated space for games, fitness, arts and crafts.
All these spaces are designed to be flexible in order to accommodate a variety of programs and functions for seniors and the community. A new 70-space parking lot will also be added to facilitate parking for seniors and visitors to the center. Infrastructure improvements to the park will include drainage as well as a walking path.
A plan to refurbish the existing basketball and tennis courts, and a multisport playing field and track is in the works. The location of the senior center to Ward Park will allow classes to be held outdoors as well as in the building
CTA Construction will be working jointly with the project designer, Courtstreet Architects of Newton, and the owner’s project manager, Collaborative Partners.
