Louis Berger ACEC/MA Award Winner

Boston – The American Council of Engineering Companies of Massachusetts (ACEC/MA) has named Louis Berger, headquartered in Needham, as a winner of its 2017 Bronze Engineering Excellence Award for work on the Route 2 Safety Improvement project at Crosby’s Corner in Lincoln and Concord.

Route 2 Safety Improvement Project

The Route 2/Route 2A Crosby’s Corner intersection has become one of the busiest and most dangerous intersections in the state. This project provided safety improvements at Crosby’s Corner; this was accomplished by constructing local service roads which run parallel to Route 2, and a new roadway with a 135-foot single span bridge bypass at the intersection at Crosby’s Corner. The benefits of the project include the ability to safely and efficiently accommodate traffic and to provide safe access to the residences and businesses located along the project corridor and preserving the ecosystem in the area.

The 2017 Engineering Excellence Awards were announced at the recent ACEC/MA Engineering Excellence and Awards Gala with emcees Carol Gladstone, Commissioner of the Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance and Commissioner Leo Roy of the Department of Conservation and Recreation.
