Local CM Supports Meriden Spirit of Giving Home Renovation

meriden 4x6-2Meriden, Connecticut – O&G Industries recently participated in the renovation of a Meriden home as a part of The Spirit of Giving’s annual holiday giving campaign.

Volunteers from O&G worked alongside over 100 volunteers from the City of Meriden, the Building & Housing Department, Police Department, Fire Department and local construction companies.  Working together, volunteers renovated the Newton Street property during a 3-week ‘extreme home makeover’ that touched many aspects of the interior, exterior and landscape.  O&G also donated pavers and coordinated the installation of a walkway by Lynch Landscaping and RTS Lawn Care, both of Hamden.  O&G vendors participating in the project included volunteers from Plans4Less.

The home was officially unveiled and turned over to Zima Hailu and her four children on Saturday.  The family was forced out of their home in mid-December due to its condition.  The project was the first of this scale for The Spirit of Giving – a Meriden nonprofit organization founded by local emergency services personnel that helps Meriden-area families in need.
