Farmington, CT – KBE Building Corporation announces a number of new project awards, starts, and completions in the first quarter of 2023.
WREN Kitchens
The UK-based-residential kitchen designer and manufacturer, WREN Kitchens, has selected KBE to manage the construction of three new WREN showrooms. New locations are in Cherry Hill, N.J. and East Hanover, N.J. KBE previously completed five other showrooms for WREN in Newington, Conn.; Hamilton Township, N.J.; College Point, N.Y.; Wilkes-Barre, Pa.; and Lawrenceville, N.J.
Sunrise Senior Living, a national developer of high-end senior living communities, has selected KBE to provide preconstruction services for a new 85-unit, 79,939sf assisted living and memory care facility set on a 4.6-acre parcel in Tarrytown, N.Y. The 3-story Modern Georgian-style building is connected to Goebel House, an existing 24,046sf, 2-story building, which will be renovated as part of the new community. It is KBE’s third project for Sunrise Senior Living.

The latest addition to KBE’s extensive portfolio of senior living facilities is Shelbourne at Mount Pleasant in Mount Pleasant, N.Y., a 4-story, 101,581sf senior living community that includes 100 assisted living and memory care units. Amenities include fitness areas, salon, theatre, commercial kitchen, dining rooms, an internal courtyard for memory care residents, and a large outdoor courtyard with fireplace. Extensive site grading and retaining walls are designed to provide a dramatic entry to the community.
Pinnacle at Waypointe
Construction is underway on Pinnacle at Waypointe, a new, multi-story, 855,882sf mixed-use residential and retail project in downtown Norwalk, Conn. that will feature residences, restaurants, and retail offerings.
KBE was construction administrator for Platt Technical High School, a recently completed, $98 million, 236,500sf technical high school in Milford, Conn. KBE previously completed six other technical high schools for the State of Connecticut as a general contractor or construction manager.

KBE has four new assisted living facilities nearing completion as part of its long-term relationship with Columbia Pacific Advisors, a national developer of senior living communities. The projects average 120,000 to 160,000sf within 2- and 3-story buildings and provide assisted living residences with a plentitude of amenities. These newest facilities are located in Hanover, Pa.; Orange, Conn.; Chesapeake, Va.; and Newark, Del. To date, KBE has completed 19 communities for this client in locations across the U.S.
