JM Coull Receives ABC EIC Award

(l-r) JM Coull’s COO Josh Brandt, Marketing Manager Laura Burch, and Assistant Project Manager Mike Padden accept the firm’s ABC Excellence in Construction Award for Discovery Woods at The Discovery Museums in Acton, MA.

Maynard, MA – JM Coull (JMC) recently earned an Excellence in Construction Merit Award from the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) for the construction of “Discovery Woods” at The Discovery Museums. The honor marks the twenty-fifth award the firm has received for construction excellence.

Discovery Woods is a fully accessible nature playscape that expands The Discovery Museums’ existing outdoor offerings for children and families by including such features as a nature trail, slide hill, willow tunnel, community swing, and rain garden. The centerpiece of the new space is a 600 sf, fully accessible treehouse, built by The Treehouse Guys from Warren, Vermont. JMC worked with the design and engineering team of Lemon|Brooke Landscape Architecture, Meisner Brem Corporation, and R.W. Sullivan Engineering.

“We are honored once again to be recognized by ABC for our high level of work, especially on such a unique project for a fantastic client,” says JMC COO Josh Brandt. “In the past, we have won awards on a variety of different project types, but this is the first time we have been recognized for our museum work, and on a project that is 100 percent outdoors. This is truly a win not only for JMC, but for our client The Discovery Museums.”
