Jane Kaplan Peck Recognized

Boston – Kaplan Construction announced that COO Jane Kaplan Peck has been named an Outstanding Woman by Boston Real Estate Times. One of 12 honorees, Kaplan Peck was recognized on April 14 during a breakfast award ceremony at the Newton Marriott Hotel in Newton, Mass.

“I am honored to be recognized alongside such strong and talented female professionals, and wish to congratulate all my fellow honorees,” said Kaplan Peck. “As the second generation of the Kaplan Construction family, I have been immersed in this field since a young age. My mother managed everything related to finance and administration – the role I now hold – and, from a young age, she taught me the business. Her continued lessons and guidance have been invaluable in who I am in my past, current, and future successes and I pay this forward to my employees today.”

Following a management transition in 2014, Kaplan Peck ushered the family business, one in which half of its employees had been with the company for multiple decades, into its second generation. As COO and majority owner of Kaplan Construction, Kaplan Peck is responsible for the day-to-day operations and ensuring Kaplan’s financial security and viability.

One of her first undertakings as the newly appointed COO was spearheading the effort to be certified as a Women Business Enterprise (WBE) by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Kaplan frequently performs on projects requiring Boston Resident Jobs Policy (BRJP) compliance and has employed a significant number of women and minority-owned subcontractors in doing so.
