Concord, NH.  –  IRN, The Recycling Network, announced a new website, www.irnsurplus.com, dedicated to surplus property management.

IRN matches corporate, educational, and medical surplus with nonprofit organizations that use the material for disaster relief and economic development.  Since 2004, IRN has shipped more than 15 million pounds of furniture, equipment and supplies from more than 1,000 projects in 21 U.S. states.  The surplus was sent to some 38 charities in 20 U.S. states and more than 45 relief zones in 20 countries on five continents.

According to Mark Berry, IRN’s Surplus Program Manager, IRN’s surplus program “has grown to the point that we have a lot of information to provide that doesn’t fit under our general recycling umbrella.  We have clients calling from all over the country, and users of surplus property who reach out to IRN from all over the world.  It’s easier to direct them straight to a dedicated surplus website, rather than try to fit in with all the other recycling that IRN does.”

“Every organization has surplus they need to get rid of,” says Berry.  “We hope IRNSurplus.com will become a portal for anyone looking to dispose of surplus, and for those who want to find surplus for disaster relief, outfitting a shelter or group home, setting up a school or clinic, or any of a hundred other uses among the world’s needy.”
