Industry to Gold: Redeveloping Cities along I-95 from New Haven to Stamford

Hartford, CT – The Connecticut Building Congress hosted the program “Industry to Gold: Redeveloping cities along I-95 from New Haven to Stamford” on Tuesday November 13, 2018 at The Cascade, 480 Sherman Avenue, Hamden.

Connecticut’s southern shoreline is a remarkable blend of urban and suburban environments, enhanced by the presence of Long Island Sound.

The cities of New Haven, Bridgeport, Norwalk, and Stamford all represent urban centers where people live, work, and play. The historical significance of these cities is merged with modern development that forms an interesting mix of past and present.

These communities are vibrant and growing. Looking to the future, this event will offer opportunities to learn from the economic development leaders as they discuss the visions for their cities.

Our distinguished speakers included:

Thomas Madden, Director of Economic Development, City of Stamford
Stephen Fontana, Deputy Director, Economic Development, City of New Haven
Tim Sheehan, Executive Director, Norwalk Redevelopment Agency
William “Bill” Coleman, Deputy Director (Regulations and Enforcement), Office of Planning and Economic Development, City of Bridgeport.

College and high school students with an interest in the design and construction industry were welcomed.

The Connecticut Building Congress creates a forum for building professionals to connect, learn, and grow.  Since 1952 CBC has been the premier organization for Connecticut’s building professionals to develop strong industry connections.
