Howard Apartments Celebrates Fifth Anniversary

Howard House fifth anniversary celebration

Brockton, MA – Howard Apartments, a permanent supportive housing community for formerly homeless veterans managed by Peabody Properties, announced it recently celebrated its fifth year anniversary.

Located at 890 Belmont Street on the grounds of the Brockton Veterans Administration Center in Brockton, Howard Apartments is the historic renovation and adaptive re-use of the former Howard House.

The May 26 anniversary celebration was attended by staff and residents of Howard Apartments in addition to members of the community and honored guests, including Brockton Mayor Robert F. Sullivan, Brockton VA Chief of Social Work Darryl Grosso, members of the Brockton Housing Authority, and several staff members from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (VASH).

Residents of Howard Apartments had a large role in planning the celebration, from decorating, to selecting the “Patriotic Luau” theme, to choosing the event slogan of “Finally Home.” The event was catered by Roche Brothers, with entertainment provided by Big Smile Entertainment.

“What an amazing day of observance and celebration,” said Jacquelyn Cope, senior resident services manager with Peabody Properties. “The residents and staff are very proud of the community they have built over the past five years; we all look forward to continued success of the Howard Apartments as a VA Supportive Housing Property.”
