Waltham, MA – Hobbs Brook Management LLC, a pioneer in the development of office space in the Boston suburbs, recently purchased 81 Wyman Street from Thermo Fisher Scientific for an undisclosed amount. Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. (NYSE: TMO), the world leader in serving science, will remain the building’s sole tenant throughout the transition.
Located directly off Mass. Interstate 128, the 85,000sf building at 81 Wyman Street is conveniently situated within the Hobbs Brook Office Park less than 30 minutes from Boston. The three-story building with glass entries features an on-site dining and fitness facility, as well as surface parking for approximately 280 cars.
“With 13 buildings existing in the Hobbs Brook Office Park, it made complete sense for Hobbs Brook to add 81 Wyman Street to our portfolio when it went on the market,” said Kevin Casey, first vice president of construction and leasing. “Hobbs Brook proudly offers superior building features to tenants in need of Class A office space, and 81 Wyman Street is one of the most visible buildings in the metro-west marketplace.”
Charles E. Chip Batchelder of Wyman Street Advisors represented Hobbs Brook Management. Alex Dauria, and Tamie Thompson of Jones Lang LaSalle were Thermo Fisher Scientific’s brokers.
As an owner and operator of Class A office space in the Boston suburbs, Hobbs Brook Management builds, renovates, and manages all of its properties with an eye towards sustainability, energy efficiency, high-quality building materials, and environmental stewardship. Most of its properties feature on-site dining, and there is a fitness facility within the park. Recent sustainable projects include the construction of a 724-kilowatt solar canopy system atop the north and south garages at 404 Wyman Street, and the installation of 16 dual-port Chargepoint Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Stations throughout its Waltham and Norwood office parks.
