Highway Work Zone Safety Seminar Held

National – On May 25  officials with the Associated General Contractors of America and HCSS  unveiled new state, regional and national survey results highlighting the dangers of highway work zones for motorists and workers. The announcement, which was made during a virtual media briefing, included safety tips for motorists heading out for summer travel and showed a new video message about the impacts of work zone crashes.

The association’s chief economist, Ken Simonson, discussed the results of an AGC-HCSS survey of the dangers of highway construction work zones. Steve McGough, President and CFO of HCSS, talked about his firm’s efforts to improve highway work zone safety. And Marty McKee, vice president of King Asphalt in South Carolina, and Skip Powe, a high work zone safety advocate in Alabama, talked about ways to better protect motorists and workers in highway work zones.
