Groton Public Library Gets New Roof

Groton Public Library

Hopkinton, MA – The Groton Public Library located in the town’s picturesque historic district recently replaced its slate roof, copper flashings, and gutters and completed a restoration of its historic skylight.

Gorman Richardson Lewis Architects (GRLA) initially conducted a 17,000sf building envelope condition assessment and leak investigation study of the circa 1893 building as well as the three-story addition completed in 1999.

The assessment included an interior leak audit to evaluate moisture infiltration, multiple roof and wall systems evaluation, and overall building performance, including ice-dam, insulation, ventilation, and other energy related issues.

GRLA worked closely with the contractor, Greenwood Industries, Inc. on a full roof replacement.
