German Life Sciences Firm Leases Office in Woburn

Woburn, MA – BioEcho Life Sciences GmbH, an international biotechnology firm, is opening its first office in the United States at TradeCenter 128 in Woburn. The Germany-based company is leasing 3,800sf of office and laboratory space.

BioEcho develops and manufactures kits for DNA and RNA extraction. Its products are used in COVID testing, plant and animal breeding and research, and biopharmaceutical research and development. Founded in 2016, the firm reports that its EchoLUTION technology enables the fastest DNA and RNA extraction on the market and reduces the associated plastic consumption by up to 70%.

“BioEcho is thrilled to join the hub of life sciences firms already at TradeCenter 128,” said Markus Muller, founder and managing director of BioEcho. “Our new Woburn office is very close to Boston, but costs far less than leasing in the city. With this being our first U.S. location, we felt very comfortable working with Cummings, which has a long track record in the area. The Woburn location is an ideal site for our commercial team which will use the offices as well as the demo lab at TradeCenter.”

Other biotech firms located at TradeCenter 128 include Batavia, Axial Therapeutics, Cambridge Polymer Group Inc., Sanegene Bio, Alloplex Biotherapeutics, Spear Bio, and Molecular Loop Biosciences.

Senior Director Rob Yacobian of Cummings worked on the lease with BioEcho. “BioEcho required a space that would allow them to continue to demonstrate and commercialize its DNA and RNA extraction technology and products here in the states,” Yacobian said. “TradeCenter 128, with its large presence of similar uses, and the ability for Cummings to perform design and construction in house, is an ideal place for life science firms with various office space needs.”
