Boston, MA – Gaston Electrical Company, based in Norwood, has completed the fast-track, 130,000sf multifloor tenant fit-up of WeWork’s Back Bay location at 31 St. James Avenue. The comprehensive electrical project included installation of power distribution throughout the offices, elaborate custom lighting and lighting control system, and the design-build of the facility’s fire alarm system.
Gaston managed project operations supervising a field crew of 40 IBEW Local 103 electricians in an accelerated three-and-a-half-month project schedule. WeWork opened its new Back Bay co-working office facility in March. This is the company’s fourth location in Greater Boston, with other offices located in Fort Point, South Station, and Cambridge.
The project team included architect: CBT Architects of Boston; GC: UA Builders, Astoria, N.Y.; and EE: MQ consulting, Watertown, Conn. The owner is Capital Properties of New York.
