Framingham State University’s West Hall

Boston– Framingham State University’s West Hall was honored as New Construction Project of the Year by the Construction Management Association of America’s New England Chapter in the category of projects built for less than $50 million.

Designed by ARC/Architectural Resources Cambridge and built by Consigli Construction, the 316-bed undergraduate residence hall opened in September of 2016. The Massachusetts State College Building Authority (MSCBA) financed and developed the 97,000sf project; the owner’s representative is Commercial Construction Consulting, Inc. The interior designer on the project is Stegman Associates.

West Hall is an all-suite residence hall, with 90 two-bedroom suites. Among its student amenities is a hotel-style lobby focused on a large fireplace, a game room, media lounge and a variety of social and study spaces.

Located on a sloped site, the brick-clad structure, spanning six stories on one end and five stories on the opposite end, features an interconnecting site stair that creates a community feel as well as facilitating vertical connections on the campus.
