Five Receive Engineering Scholarships

Lincoln, RI – The American Council of Engineering Companies of Rhode Island, a professional association representing 44 engineering firms doing business in Rhode Island, presented a total of $12,500 in academic scholarships at its annual breakfast meeting. 

The five awards of $2,500 each were presented to the following students:

Jamie Fitzpatrick is in her senior year, majoring in civil engineering at the University of New Hampshire.  Her father accepted the award on her behalf as she is currently completing an internship in Australia.

Cassie Grace is in her senior year at Worcester Polytechnic Institute studying civil engineering. 

Alexander Iannuzzi is a sophomore at Virginia Polytechnic and State University where he is completing a double major in the engineering program in computer science and applied computational mathematics with a focus on cyber security.

Jean Carlos Inoa is studying civil engineering at Northeastern University.  This is the second year that this Classical High School alumnus has been awarded an ACEC-RI scholarship. 

Matthew Schomacker is in his junior year of a dual Bachelor and Master of Science program at Northeastern University.  He has an interest in railroad engineering. 

This annual scholarship is awarded for academic achievement, related work experience, extracurricular activities, and community involvement to full-time students enrolled in an engineering program that has been accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET-EAC).
