SMPS: Virtual Book Club: So You Want to Talk About Race

November 24, 2020 @ 6:00 pm - 7:15 pm

Not enough time to attend an in-person SMPS book club? Feeling too much pressure to remember everything you read? Join the SMPS Boston Professional Development Committee on Microsoft Teams for a virtual book club!

Sign up to “attend” our book club, SMPS will send you copy of the book (hard copy, e-book, or audio book), and then you will receive an invite to a live discussion via Microsoft Teams led by our moderator, Stacey Russell, the Corporate Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging Coordinator for GPI. Non-members are welcome to attend; your fee will cover the cost of your book.

This book club will be reading So You Want to Talk About Race by Ijeoma Oluo, which explores various subjects such as intersectionality, affirmative action, and “model minorities” to help readers conduct conversations about race and racism. We will be focusing discussion on Chapters 3, 4, and 14.
