AIA CT: Network Framing Solutions Accredited Seminar on Building with Off-Site Construction and Prefabrication

October 24, 2019 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Members of Connecticut AIA can receive CES credits for attending an educational presentation taught by Melissa Sheffy on Friday, November 1, 2019, from 1 to 3 pm.

Plainville, CT – The Connecticut Chapter of the American Institute of Architects has approved a new educational program developed by Network Framing Solutions (NFS) for members to learn about off-site construction and prefabrication.

New technologies and advances in prefabrication are reshaping traditional construction methods. Over the last year, forward-thinking contractors like NFS adapted quickly to become manufacturers of prefabrication systems. In order to achieve the benefits of prefabrication, architects need to understand how and when to incorporate prefabrication into their construction projects.

The course designed by NFS will cover key learning objectives including the terminology of prefabricated products and systems, planning and design with prefabrication, lean construction and just-in-time supply chain fulfillment, and the effect of prefabrication on project schedules, site waste, quality, and site safety.

The NFS course will be taught by Melissa Sheffy, Owner of both NFS and Network Interiors, a commercial interior specialty subcontractor. “Off-site prefabrication is no longer an emerging trend. It has become the new normal in construction,” said Sheffy. “We are proud to offer this program for Connecticut AIA members to take advantage of new prefabrication technologies to build better, faster, and maximize profits for owners.”

Following a brief question and answer period at the end of the session, attendees will be invited to tour the NFS manufacturing facility and observe live demonstrations.

Space is limited for this event. Pre-registration is required. To RSVP, email info@network-framing.com by October 30th to reserve seating.
