Worcester, MA – Erland was awarded the expansion of the American Antiquarian Society at 185 Salisbury Street. The three-story, 7,000-square-foot addition will house a conservation lab as well as a new climate-control system to ensure the preservation of the society’s precious collection – the nation’s most comprehensive compilation of printed records from America’s early years.  Materials date from the introduction of the printing press in America in 1640 through 1876.

Working with New York architect, Samuel Anderson Architects, and Owner’s Project Manager, Pinck & Co., Erland has collaborated with Phoenix Mechanical to create an expert team for this project. In addition to the expansion, the team will overhaul the current HVAC system and construct a new mechanical room that will service the entire building.

Erland is scheduled to mobilize onsite in early 2017.
