Engineering Firm Provides Scholarships in Honor of 40th Anniversary

Lincoln, RI – BETA Group, Inc. is celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2022. The company’s mission is to “improve the communities where we live and work,” and BETA has used that as a launching point for several initiatives to commemorate its anniversary this year.

One key initiative was to positively impact the future of the AEC industry by supporting the education of the next generation of engineers. With six offices throughout New England, BETA made donations toward scholarships in the school systems for each of those six communities. Recipients were selected by school administration staff in Lincoln, R.I.; Chicopee, Worcester, and Norwood, Mass.; Hartford, Conn.; and Manchester, N.H. The selected students are pursuing a degree in majors such as civil engineering, environmental engineering, marine biology, and other STEM fields at institutions of higher education in the fall.

Additionally, BETA selected several national organizations that support its diversity, equity, and inclusion goals. Donations were made toward the scholarship programs at the National Society of Black Engineers, the Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers, the Society of Women Engineers, and the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers. The donations support minority students looking to pursue a career in the AEC industry.

Over the last 40 years, BETA has grown to include more than 150 employee-owners throughout New England and offers a continually expanding range of planning, engineering, landscape architecture, and environmental services.
